Christmas Fun Runs return for 2025: join us in Liverpool or Bollington

5 December 2025
Christmas Fun Runs return for 2025 – Join us in Liverpool or Bollington for festive fun!

CAFOD’s beloved Christmas Fun Runs are back on Saturday 27 December 2025, bringing together communities in Liverpool and Bollington for a morning filled with joy, fresh air and festive cheer, all in support of families around the world facing poverty and injustice.

After an incredible year in 2024, which saw Liverpool celebrate its 40th anniversary with over 400 participants and more than £15,000 raised, we’re excited to welcome both returning supporters and new faces for another unforgettable year of festive fun.

Whether you’re joining us on the athletics track in Liverpool or taking in the scenic Middlewood Way in Bollington, both fun runs offer the perfect chance to walk off the Christmas sweets, enjoy time with loved ones and make a real difference with every step.

Back on the Wavertree athletics track, the Liverpool Fun Run offers a choice of 3k or 5k fully marshalled routes, all set within a buzzing event village featuring live music, face painting, hot drinks and festive treats.

The run will once again be opened by our Christmas Fun Run ambassador and 2024 Children’s Laureate, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, a long-time supporter who brings his signature warmth and enthusiasm to the morning.

As one participant shared last year:

“This was my first CAFOD Fun Run, and I really enjoyed it — I’ll definitely be back again next year!”

Bollington Fun Run – Middlewood Way

The Bolly Fun Run has become a cherished local tradition, with families and friends gathering on the Middlewood Way in their brightest festive fancy dress. Whether covered in tinsel, jingling with bells, or running as full-on Santa, everyone is welcome.

Runners, walkers and even four-legged friends can take on this accessible route, creating a joyful celebration of community, hope and solidarity.
